- Keep the Alcohol in Check: While we just mentioned that keeping your attendees and staff hydrated is important, alcohol is a great contributor of dehydration. When some choose to drink a lot, and they are in the heat, it can cause problems. Alcohol causes lapses in judgment and coordination, and those effects are heightened when adding the Florida heat to it. Be sure that your bar staff is trained in knowing when someone has had too much to maintain the safety of the guests.
- Plan the Perfect Layout: Nothing is worse than it being super hot and jam-packed like sardines at an event. Monitor tickets sales or RSVPs so you can plan for attendance numbers, and spread events out to give people the breathing room they need. Also, if it is in a large open space, like a field, have canopies or some kind of shade-producing structure so guests can take refuge from the sun under them. Misting fans are a nice touch to cool off while in the shade.
