Keep With the Seasons With a Halloween-Inspired Corporate Event

Looking for a festive and spooky way to update your next Florida corporate event? Why not theme your event after one of the most beloved holidays–Halloween? In our youth, Halloween was the one night of the year that we could externalize our inner superhero or princess, and we were rewarded for our creativity and pride with delicious candy. Now, it’s a month-long celebration of togetherness and ingenuity. According to Special Events Magazine, there has been a significant increase in the number of Halloween-themed corporate and social gatherings–stick with the trend and give your guests something to talk about until next Halloween.

Here are a few ways to incorporate Halloween traditions into your corporate event:

  • Costumes. Dressing up is no longer just for kids–adults love dressing up for Halloween. Event experts even report that their events are more interactive for guests if they are allowed to dress in a costume. Not only do guests feel more involved in the success of the event, but there are many avenues for hosts to present fun awards for costuming and creativity.
  • Venue. If possible, choose something spooky; if it’s not possible, choose something that you can make to look spooky. When most people say spooky, they automatically think of a haunted house, but spooky decor can be subtle and elegant. Just make sure you’ve asked about any restrictions for using atmospheric effects such as dim lighting and fog.
  • Theme. Consider incorporating a theme for your Florida corporate event. You can tie in the decor, food options, and drink menu to the overall theme. Some themes include decade specific costumes (have your attendees envision what their costume idea would look like in that era and produce it–just image what a flapper Wonder Woman would look like) or a famous couples theme. You can also incorporate themed rentals. If you hosted a haunted western, allow your guests to try their luck on the treacherous mechanical bull, or if your theme is a haunted circus, look into oversized games and cotton candy machines.
  • Entertainment. Encourage the event’s staff to dress in a similar outfit to fit the theme and create a haunted hayride or haunted house for event attendees. When creating a spooky amusement, have it match the theme of the event and don’t forget to incorporate strobe lights, fog machines, and black lights.
  • Treats. Halloween isn’t Halloween without some treats! If you’re hiring staff to create and serve drinks and food, coordinate with them and get creative with the flavors of fall. Add candy and pumpkin to EVERYTHING! Cocktails, desserts, and finger-foods can all be customized to fit the theme of the event.
