Fun Planners is proud to have assisted the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation (OMYF) with their 21st Annual OMYF Black Tie & Tennies Gala held at the Amway Center this past Saturday night. Over $500,000.00 was raised for local charities. Dwight Howard won the Rich & Helen DeVos Community Enrichment Award (CEA) for the fifth time and fourth consecutive year (2004-05, 2007-08, 2008-09, 2009-10, 2010-11). Each year at the Gala, the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation honors a player who has dedicated his efforts off the court for the purpose of enhancing others’ lives. An anonymous panel of external representatives selects the player. In addition to receiving the award, the player is granted $50,000 from the Richard and Helen DeVos Foundation to donate to the charity of his choice.
Fun Planners created unique interactive experiences for guests to get a memorable moment with their favorite Magic players and staff. Invitees sang karaoke with Dwight Howard, challenged Jameer Nelson at Dribble Derby, played Air Hockey with Gilbert Arenas, took a green screen photo with JJ Redick, shot hoops with Ryan Anderson, and made Flip Books with Hedo Turkoglu. In addition, Brandon Bass and Earl Clark were participating in Blackjack games. The event was a great success, and all of the guests had the unforgettable chance to meet with their beloved Magic players in a fun environment.
