Did you miss the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) All-Star Weekend in Orlando in 1992 and immediately regret it? Well, this year your chance to partake in this exciting event is back! The NBA All-Star Weekend has returned to Orlando and the majority of events will be occurring at the Amway Center in Downtown Orlando. With a variety of happenings throughout the Orlando area this weekend, Fun Planners will keep you up to date.
The first major event will occur tonight with the NBA All-Star Weekend Celebrity Game. Following this game will be the Rising Stars Challenge, interestingly once called the “Rookie Game”. This event puts first and second year players head-to-head for an intense competition.
Saturday also brings a wide variety of events. At 2:00 P.M. the 2012 NBA D-League All-Star Game will begin; this event is one of the most widely talked-about games of the weekend. Saturday night will bring the All-Star Saturday Night, and will contain four separate events: the Haier Shooting Stars, the Taco Bell Skills Challenge, the Foot Locker Three-Point Contest, and the Sprite Slam Dunk.
Sunday is quite possibly the most important day of the weekend; at 7:30 P.M., the 61st NBA All-Star Game will begin. This game contains the best players within the Eastern Conference against the best players in the Western Conference.
